Applicability of curricular integration strategies in environmental education in public universities of the state Zulia

The environmental crisis that affects the planet, minimizes the sustainable human development, this inescapable reality must be faced from diverse routes, one of them is the environmental education. The purpose of this research was to analyze the applicability of curricular integration strategies in Environmental Education in the public universities of Zulia state, in order to propose strategic guidelines to strengthen it. This research, with a positivist approach, was descriptive-projective, with a non-experimental, transectional fi eld design. The survey technique was applied using an instrument with Likert-type response alternatives. For its reliability, the Alpha Cronbach coeffi cient was applied with a result of 0.88. The sample was census for the population of teachers, consisting of 12 subjects, the student population was composed of 684 individuals who studied the environmental education subject belonging to LUZ and UNERMB, the sample used was of 253 subjects, it was calculated applying the formula of Sierra Bravo, using inferential descriptive statistics. Through the analysis and interpretation of the results, the applicability of curricular integration strategies in Environmental Education in the public universities of Zulia state, is located in the category of suitable for teachers,
but students, active participants of this education do not share This opinion, his answers were placed in the moderately adequate category. Taking into account the answers given by the students, it is concluded that there are weaknesses in the strategies of transversalist and complementary curricular integration.
