Abstract

This research aimed to design a series of informative children's stories to promote reading among children with visual impairments, contributing to the education and integration of people with disabilities. The project targeted children, students, and the general public interested in the topic, all residents of Maracaibo. A unique design method was created based on the ideas of those who propose fundamental stages adapted to the design process. The theoretical framework emphasizes multimedia principles, composition, elements, and structure, as well as image combination, typography, and typographic legibility. A child-friendly style was employed to achieve visual integration of the elements with the composition's theme, making the image the protagonist. Flat colors and sounds were used without overloading the work, ensuring the best possible visual and reading experience for the reader. The research was projective, and the design was an observational cohort field study. It was concluded that it is not only important to study the essential aspects of multimedia production, but also to consider the characteristics of the target audience in order to design a product that reflects the essence of their work. Likewise, it is recommended that research projects focused on people with disabilities continue, and that the collected data not remain confined to a library, but rather have the opportunity to be published, thereby enriching the design of local libraries.
