Geographic information system for tourism management of sailing, hill municipality of falcon state

Abstract

Currently there are state policies aimed at giving a significant boost to tourism in all regions, especially the Areas
of Tourist Interest established in the country. As a contribution to the development of tourist activities and the use of the resources available in La Vela, the design of a Geographic Information System applied to Tourism is proposed, under the modality of a Feasible Project supported by a Field Research, where the information in the area studied was gathered through consultation with  the responsible agencies and the use of GPS navigator to obtain the geographic information of the sites of tourist interest established in the locality according to the Tourism Unit of the Bolivarian Mayor’s Office of the Colina Municipality, incorporating this information to a digital database and linking this data to specialized software, in which, in a dynamic, simple and automated way, the most important characteristics and attributes are visualized, providing georeferenced location through satellite images. Information was obtained constituted by eleven thematic Maps that organize and locate the studied sites according to their coordinates UTM with datum Regven, obtaining characteristics according to the classification, uses and capacities and providing a systematized tool that allows the handling, analysis for planning of the available tourist resources.
