Abstract

The present work has as objective to show the main elements that characterize the ancestral agricultural practices of the peoples that inhabited the northwest of Marabino. Methodologically, to obtain information, surveys, observation, interviews were conducted. The results obtained include ancestral agricultural practices: burning for cleaning and soil preparation, polycultures and conucos, use of the lunar phases, use of the sowing stick, synchronization with the rainy season. These results suggest that despite the presence of the hegemonic model of the Green Revolution and Agribusiness, there are ancestral practices that are still maintained and that could facilitate the transition to an agroecological and solidarity productive model in the localities of the study area.
